Welcome to my page!

I hope you find these pages helpful if you are looking to start the therapy journey.  Whatever you decide to start this wonderful journey with me or not, it has been lovely to have you here.

Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and cope better with change.

I offer supportive, compassionate, non-judgmental, confidential, and creative Counselling therapy in a warm, comfortable, private setting in Monmouth and Gloucester.  I mainly work from a Psychotherapy perspective which means therapy is focused on unconscious processes as they are manifested in the present behaviour. The goals of Psychotherapy therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behaviour.

Psychotherapy recognises the lasting impact of trauma. This is when stressful events that you experience or witness make you feel unsafe, helpless or vulnerable. Therapy will help you to learn about what has happened to you, not what is wrong with you. The focus is on compassion listening and understanding rather than making a diagnosis.

Here to Guide You

One with Nature

You may feel that what you’re experiencing isn’t serious enough to get help or feel unsure about the kind of support counselling can offer, but anyone can benefit from becoming more aware of how they see the world and why.

I believe in the individual’s ability to grow and develop in the way that is best for them, so I'm always guided by your needs, feelings and pace.

It is a collaborative journey, empowering my clients to manage challenges, rewrite narratives, and embrace personal growth.

Starting counselling can be daunting, but living with unresolved problems can be even more distressing, the first step to healing is to recognise you need help.

Often we carry distorted messages about ourselves from our past, and the skill of the counsellor is in bringing these into awareness and helping you to discover what is holding you back from being the person you want to be.

My main focus for therapy, is to enable you to find a way through whatever is troubling you, so that life is more manageable, the future more hopeful and maybe even your dreams become possible!

People come to therapy for many and varied reasons from a life changing situation or illness, stress at work or relationship struggles and more. But I also hear people who have struggled with their feelings wonder if their problems are 'worth bothering a counsellor with'. Please know that whatever you are trying to cope with, talking to someone can make a difference.

In embracing a creative psychotherapeutic approach, my goal is to facilitate not only symptom relief but also sustainable personal growth and lasting positive change. Together, we embark on a journey that transcends the traditional boundaries of therapy, unlocking the transformative potential within each individual.

Psychotherapy Creative Approach

In my practice I embrace a dynamic and creative approach aimed at fostering a transformative journey for individuals seeking support. Recognizing the different and complex nature of human experiences, I use fresh methods to engage clients on a deeper level.

Unleashing the Power of Creativity:

Central to my therapeutic philosophy is the belief that creativity serves as a catalyst for healing and self-discovery. Through the integration of various creative modalities such as art, narrative techniques, mindfulness exercises, and expressive therapies, I invite clients to explore and express their thoughts, emotions, and aspirations in non-traditional ways. This allows for a more holistic and personalized exploration of your inner world, fostering a deeper connection with yourself and the therapeutic process.

Benefits of Creative Psychotherapy:

  1. Enhanced Self-Awareness: Creative expressions provide a unique avenue for individuals to explore and articulate their emotions, thoughts, and experiences, leading to heightened self-awareness.

  2. Deeper Emotional Processing: Creative modalities often tap into emotions that may be challenging to express verbally, allowing for a more profound and comprehensive emotional processing.

  3. Stress Reduction and Relaxation: Engaging in creative activities can be inherently relaxing, offering a therapeutic outlet for stress reduction and emotional relief.

  4. Empowerment and Resilience: Clients develop a sense of empowerment as they actively participate in their healing process, building resilience and coping skills that extend beyond the therapeutic setting.

  5. Holistic Healing: The integration of creativity in psychodynamic promotes holistic healing, addressing the interconnected facets of mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Discussing positive experiences leads to heightened well-being, increased overall life satisfaction and even more energy”
